I Went to the Enemy’s Camp

This morning as I was in the shower, the Lord reminded me of a song we used to sing when Max and I first came to Grand Junction in 1999. I had just finished praying, declaring, and decreeing over our Nation. I have never particularly imagined myself as a warrior. I had never felt God calling me to go to war, until the past year or so. But recently, the Lord has changed the focus of much of my prayer to declaring and decreeing over our Nation. The song God reminded me of declares, “I went to the enemy’s camp and I took back what he stole from me.”
Indeed, the Church of America is being forced to realize that while we were in many ways asleep, the enemy has snuck in and stolen much from us. We look around to see the depths of corruption in all the seven mountains of our Society: Government, Media, Business, Education, Arts and Entertainment, Family, and even the Church, and we say, “Wow! How could it have gone this far and we didn’t see it?” Yes, much has been stolen from us. We are now awakening to the depths of corruption in our Election Systems, our Congress (both Republican and Democrat), in our FBI, in our CIA, in our Department of Justice, and even in our Court Systems. We see that enemy Nations have infiltrated members of Government, Business, and Education, as well as Hollywood. Our Business secrets and even our Defense Secrets are being stolen right out from under our noses and we didn’t realize it. How in the world did this happen?

The sixth chapter of Judges begins, “The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight so the Lord handed them over to the Midianites for seven years.” The Midianites were cruel to the Israelites. So much so that the Israelites had to hide in caves for their protection. Whenever they planted crops, marauders from Midian and Amalek camps and from the East would attack and steal and destroy their crops, leaving them hungry. They took their sheep, goats, cattle, and donkeys. Israel was in dire straits to say the least. But the Lord sent a prophet as they cried out. “This is what the Lord says,” he declared. “I am the Lord your God. You must not worship other gods. But you have not listened to me.” Sound familiar? I know God has been speaking to America too, but we haven’t always listened. So the Lord sent an angel to a man named Gideon. “Mighty hero,” he said. “The Lord is with you!” Then the Lord turned to Gideon and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you.” Just as we might, Gideon made his excuses as to why he wasn’t up for the task but the Lord insisted, “I will be with you. You will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.” Imagine what Gideon must have thought? Who, Me? He wasn’t known as a warrior. He certainly wasn’t a Superstar. But he was the Lord’s chosen in this hour. Gideon got an army together, but the Lord said it was too many men. He sent twenty-two thousand men home leaving only ten thousand but the Lord said it was still too many. Finally, when there were only three hundred men left to go up against the whole Midianite Camp the Lord was satisfied. But their weapons were not the kind you and I would think of. No swords. No spears. They were to blow their horns and shout. They were to make noise by breaking clay jars. So they marched on the Midianite camp just after midnight, breaking their clay jars, holding torches in one hand while blowing their horns in the other and shouting, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” The Midianites were so frightened, they ran in panic and the Israelites captured their Commanders. The Israelites went on to route the armies to the east and were victorious over all. Later, after the battles, the Israelites asked Gideon to be their ruler, but he refused. Instead, he said, “I will not rule over you, nor will my son. The Lord will rule over you.”

For the past fifty years, we the Church of America have become the silent majority. We allowed the lie of separation of church and state to tether us. Now, because of our silence, we may have become the silent minority. But I believe an awakening and arising Church is beginning to stand and say, “No more!” We will fight the anti-Christ agendas and corruptions in America. We are being called to put on our Spiritual Armor and to pick up our Spiritual Weapons. Weapons mighty to the pulling down of strongholds. As we stand, as we pray and declare; as we bind and lockup, as we loose and release, as we decree God’s agenda over our Nation. As we declare his Angel Armies are demolishing evil strongholds over each of the Mountains of our Society, we are delivering death blows to the enemy’s agendas and strategies. We will win this fight. We must win this fight. Our God is mighty to save and he will win this fight. But we have a part to play. Only as we stand, declare, and decree his will. Then we will win. We can’t win the war if we don’t enter the battle. We’re going to the enemy’s camp!
